Mini Bots and Wiring

Wiring was the key word tonight!  We learned how to strip copper wire and crimp it into terminals and then insert them into plastic connectors for our lift motors. We completed five connectors, then ran out of terminals and will have to order more this week. Wiring is always fun when you have the right tool for the job!

We also concentrated on several prototypes of the mini bot drive system and tested them on the game pole.  Four revisions were accomplished tonight - each with a different slant.

The kids had some great ideas and the trial and error method was an excellent teaching oportunity to learn about mechanical and gravitational forces.

Bottom line - we have a drive system for the Mini Robot and now, we will optimize the alignment for speed and precision!
